This week in Geneva, representatives from more than 150 countries are meeting to finalize nearly four years of negotiations on the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, a global health treaty.
While we face many challenges to our security at home and abroad, the United States must not miss opportunities to demonstrate leadership in important global affairs. Our country's participation in these negotiations should demonstrate that we value the health of people around the world.

So, who supplys the OTHER 4/5? Shouldn't they be in on this also? Why do you never hear about any tobacco companys but the American ones?
Because we export the cigarettes that cause this death and disease, we have a responsibility to also export the public health tools that are appropriate in our own country -- health warning labels, education campaigns and limits on tobacco promotion.
No we DON'T have the responsibility to make other countries adhere to our laws on health warning labels, education campaigns, or tobacco promotion. That would be facism or socialism.

I'll bet Nancy doesn't think that "actor", Ronald Reagan, was a suitable President either.
